Review: MELT Organic Butter

I received this product for testing and reviewing purposes; however, all opinions are 100% my own.

I am guilty of loving butter! I enjoy cooking with it, especially on my eggs and pancakes. I also love, love, love using it on my veggies. They just taste so good! I also tend to add butter to my bread. Oh, and here is another way I like using butter: in my coffee. Yes, I have to say this is one of my guilty pleasures. Butter is something I enjoy with pretty much all my foods. I know it is not the healthiest thing ever. That's why I also include the healthy fats like coconut oil and avocados. I honestly hope this will help balance my cholesterol levels, although they are currently good. Please note, I do keep an eye out for this, because it is important to keep as healthy as can be. We have to help our bodies stay strong with exercise and good nutrition on a daily basis.

Recently, I was presented with the opportunity to try, for free, a butter that is quite different: MELT. It is a dairy-free organic butter that is made from fruit and plant-based oils, including coconut oil, and contains NO trans fats or hydrogenated oils. It is also free from preservatives, artificial flavors and colors. The more I learned about this butter, the more happy I got because I knew that this would be my go-to butter as of this point. I was happy! I can now eat something that is always being frowned upon, and I can eat it without guilt. The plus on this butter is that it actually tastes really good. It is creamy and rich. You don't need a lot in order to taste it. It compliments my dishes really well. It's all good when you bake with it, cook with it, or even just spread a little on a warm flour tortilla. I highly recommend you try MELT butter.

Review: Dr. Bronner's Coconut Oil

A few weeks ago, I had gone online to do a bit of research on Dr. Bronner and the whole kernel virgin coconut oil. I knew about the Castille soaps; for I used them all the time in my household. Not only is Castille Soap used as soap, I also use it to clean my home and wash our laundry. It works great at taking out stains, too! So, of course, I was stoked to hear that my group and I would be testing the Whole Kernel Virgin Coconut Oil. Coconut oil does so much good in this world. I swear, if you Google it you are going to get a list of about 100 ways to use this oil. Not only is it used for cooking and baking, it is also used for the body as a body butter, lotion, hair masque, chapstick, toothpaste, deodorant, oil pulling, immune booster, and much more. There are so many health benefits to virgin coconut oil, that we can go days talking about this. Another great thing about Dr. Bronner is that they are Fair Trade. So, their products are organic AND they are Fair Trade! Dr. Bronner always wanted the people to be All One. He also felt strongly about being fair with his products, both for the consumer as well as the employees. He also wanted to help the earth and the animals! Let it all be fair! It is great to know that there are companies out in this world that are doing good in every way possible! It is very admirable and definitely a very good influence; for which I would like to learn more from and follow such great attributes.

That time had come for our group to gather. We decided to hang out this past weekend, my family and I, for my brother-in-law's birthday. We had fun. We laughed. We sang. We then talked about Dr. Bronner's Coconut Oil and the lotions. I took the lavender-scented lotion that was provided to me for free for sharing the sample lotions and taste-testing the coconut oil-whole kernel. My family was more than thrilled to get started and learn more about Dr. Bronner. They were very pleased to know that Dr. Bronner coconut oil, lotions, and all of his products were organic and Fair Trade. They loved the way the lotions smelled. Then, they not only tasted the coconut oil, they also wore it on their skin. Some used it as lotion, another used it to over her eczema, while another used it on his cuticles. They liked the way it felt on their skin as well as how well it tasted. They said they would definitely purchase it in the exact size. I, too, really enjoyed tasting and using the oil. The lotions were so cool! They smelled really nice, and they didn't give you that feeling of thickness nor were they non-breathable. It made your skin feel so soft and smelled naturally good!

Do you use coconut oil? If so, how do you use it?

Review: The Olive Tree Company Bath and Body Products

This review is for The Olive Tree Company Rosemary & Mint Shampoo and Conditioner, Olive Oil Soap, and Calendula Oatmeal Facial Grains.

I have a few products here that were sent to me so I can test and review. These products contain only natural ingredients from plants. They do not contain parabens, phthalates, sulfates, synthetic colors, or synthetic fragrances.  This is a big plus for those who suffer from certain conditions such as allergies and eczema, or simply prefer organic and natural products. Key ingredients that are used in their products are olive oil and essential oils such as lavender, tea tree, lemon myrtle, rosemary, peppermint, rose geranium, and sandalwood; all which are soothing and contain various healing benefits for the skin and hair. I love oils and I love natural products. So, of course, I was excited to try them. So, let’s see what I got, shall we?

Rosemary & Mint Shampoo and Conditioner:
This shampoo has a very light scent of rosemary and mint. It doesn’t lather much because it does not contain chemicals that make a rich lather, such as SLS or sulphates. But, it did clean my hair very well, and it left my scalp feeling clean. My hair was soft, clean, and my natural waves stood out.  It did not dry out my scalp. My hair was not frizzy or crazy-looking. When shampoos leave my hair frizzy and crazy-looking, it is unmanageable and just crazy! It is like it has a mind of its own…some waves are facing left while other waves are facing right! Anyways, this shampoo did NOT do any of that craziness. YEY!

I used the rosemary and mint shampoo along with the accompanying conditioner. The conditioner left my hair super soft, and it smelled really nice. It was lightly scented of rosemary with a hint of mint. The conditioner added shine and body to my hair, leaving my hair with my natural waves. It helped with static and frizziness, even on cloudy days. Is it true that on cloudy or gloomy days your hair gets frizzy? I don’t know, I think so only because my hair is crazy on cloudy and gloomy days. But it is also crazy on sunny days…hmm. My hair stylist has called my hair, “cow licks.” This should tell you a little something of what I have to deal with. Well back to the shampoo and conditioner. This shampoo and conditioner is made with aloe vera, olive oil, and essential oils. All of these ingredients are soothing and have healing properties, so the shampoo and conditioner is good for all types of hair.

Olive Oil Soap:
This soap is handmade. It is as if you have just made it in your own kitchen. It has a very light, pleasant scent. Upon using this soap, it left my skin feeling very soft and well moisturized. I also used it on my face. It left my face feeling clean. It did not dry my skin, it doesn’t have a strong perfume aroma, and it didn’t leave my skin feeling stretchy. This soap did its job. I used a soap saver soap holder so it can last longer. So far so good.

Calendula Oatmeal Facial Grains
What’s this you ask?  Well, facial grains is kind of like a scrub that you use on your face. You mix the powder with a little bit of water and apply it in a circular motion, almost like a massage for your face. Oatmeal, calendula, and clays make a great team. Together they tackle many skin concerns, such as eczema. The smell is pleasant and soft. I used it twice a week. My face felt hydrated and well-nourished.

All-in-all The Olive Tree Company has some great products. Natural and organic products are great and you need not worry about them containing harsh chemicals. I will definitely be ordering some more, maybe the Rose Geranium Body Lotion or the Lavender & Sandalwood Hand & Body Wash. Bottom line: Yes, I do like.
