Review: Sun & Earth Natural Sunscreen

I received Sun and Earth Natural Sunscreen complimentary to test and review. All opinions are 100% my own.

It is really nice to know that I am not using harsh chemicals on my body with this sunscreen. The ingredients in this sunscreen are natural, non-toxic, and safe for the whole family. It comes in a little container, so it fits perfectly in my little purse. It smells like chocolate...the Mexican hot chocolate kind...my favorite! Yum! Of course, I am not going to eat it. I just wanted to share with you that it smells so good! Back to the sunscreen...

I have been using this natural sunscreen throughout the summer. It does not feel greasy or thick on my skin. I would say it is subtle and soft once applied on my skin. My skin actually feels good and well nourished. It can breathe with this sunscreen! However, it was a little difficult to apply because it was too firm. It is solid rather than soft and creamy; therefore, it takes a little while longer to apply. Apply it a little at a time, and let your fingers warm and adjust the product temperature to help it go on better.

It also helped soothe my dry, chapped hands. We moved to a new home recently, and my hands got chapped and were really dry due to all the packing and moving. They were itchy! Applying this cream on my hands helped my skin almost immediately. I decided to apply the cream on my hands because, based on the research that I have done, the ingredients in this cream have healing and nourishing qualities, which I am always looking out for when searching for something for me and my family. The ingredients in this sunscreen are: Zinc Oxide, Beeswax, Coconut Oil, Olive Oil, Cacao Powder, and Cacao Butter. Coconut oil and Olive oil are some of my favorite ingredients! They work wonders for our bodies, in and out. Zinc is an awesome protector of the skin for burns and rashes. It is a shield barrier! How great is this team, I tell you!

All-in-all, I appreciate that this sunscreen worked well under these hot and sunny conditions, and I am thankful it came in handy just when I needed it most. I will be more than happy to continue using it for my family and me. Check out Sun and Earth for more info on their products!

Review: Finesse Shampoo and Conditioner

Seriously, I thought that Finesse Shampoo and Conditioner were discontinued. I hadn't seen it anywhere at the stores or online in what seemed like forever. I was pleasantly surprised and quite excited to learn that I would be testing these products out! I guess I was wrong. They are still here, obviously, and I get to try them out. Sounds good!

Here is my review:

SHAMPOO--
The shampoo has a delicate and clean scent. My hair immediately felt soft while shampooing. I felt that, as I was lathering my hair, the shampoo was hugging and nourishing each hair strand. By the way, it lathered very well and washed off easily. My hair smelled really nice, too.

CONDITIONER--
The conditioner has a very subtle scent. It is very pleasant. My hair felt so clean and smooth after using it. The conditioner tamed my crazy hair that normally likes to face in every direction. My waves stood out and my hair shined. My hair was soft, too. I like that I could run my fingers through my hair so easily.

OVERALL--
I tried both the shampoo and conditioner, and overall, I am pleased with the results. However, I would like to continue using both shampoo and conditioner to really see and feel the change in my hair as time passes by. So far, my hair is softer, and although it remains a bit frizzy, it feels stronger and is more manageable. I am happy to see that it has more volume and bounce from just a few washes!

I received Finesse Shampoo and Conditioner for free for testing and reviewing purposes. All opinions are 100% my own.

Review: Spider Repellent

This spider repellent seems to have such a strong aroma, which I like. I love essential oils! The smell is very inviting, and I can imagine it is the opposite for spiders. They don't like these scents. They tend to stay away from them. I noticed it on ants, when I spray with lavender or peppermint essential oils, they make a complete 180 and walk back to where they came from! I am confident that this spider repellent is doing the same. The smell of essential oils must be overwhelming for them. However, I don't like spiders. I tend to panic when I see one in my house. I don't want to kill them, either. I know they have an important role in this world. I just don't want them in my home. I feel comfortable leaving this sachet laying around the house, because I know it does not hurt us or them. Essential oils are something I use regularly around my house. I diffuse them, I add them to my cleaning products, and I use them for bath and body uses. Therefore, I will be purchasing some more of this spider repellent for my entire home. It really does smell very nice! And, I haven't seen any spiders since I started using it! I am definitely telling my family and friends about this!

I received this product for free from EarthKind and Social Nature in exchange for my review. All opinions are my own.

Review: Dr. Bronner's Coconut Oil

A few weeks ago, I had gone online to do a bit of research on Dr. Bronner and the whole kernel virgin coconut oil. I knew about the Castille soaps; for I used them all the time in my household. Not only is Castille Soap used as soap, I also use it to clean my home and wash our laundry. It works great at taking out stains, too! So, of course, I was stoked to hear that my group and I would be testing the Whole Kernel Virgin Coconut Oil. Coconut oil does so much good in this world. I swear, if you Google it you are going to get a list of about 100 ways to use this oil. Not only is it used for cooking and baking, it is also used for the body as a body butter, lotion, hair masque, chapstick, toothpaste, deodorant, oil pulling, immune booster, and much more. There are so many health benefits to virgin coconut oil, that we can go days talking about this. Another great thing about Dr. Bronner is that they are Fair Trade. So, their products are organic AND they are Fair Trade! Dr. Bronner always wanted the people to be All One. He also felt strongly about being fair with his products, both for the consumer as well as the employees. He also wanted to help the earth and the animals! Let it all be fair! It is great to know that there are companies out in this world that are doing good in every way possible! It is very admirable and definitely a very good influence; for which I would like to learn more from and follow such great attributes.

That time had come for our group to gather. We decided to hang out this past weekend, my family and I, for my brother-in-law's birthday. We had fun. We laughed. We sang. We then talked about Dr. Bronner's Coconut Oil and the lotions. I took the lavender-scented lotion that was provided to me for free for sharing the sample lotions and taste-testing the coconut oil-whole kernel. My family was more than thrilled to get started and learn more about Dr. Bronner. They were very pleased to know that Dr. Bronner coconut oil, lotions, and all of his products were organic and Fair Trade. They loved the way the lotions smelled. Then, they not only tasted the coconut oil, they also wore it on their skin. Some used it as lotion, another used it to over her eczema, while another used it on his cuticles. They liked the way it felt on their skin as well as how well it tasted. They said they would definitely purchase it in the exact size. I, too, really enjoyed tasting and using the oil. The lotions were so cool! They smelled really nice, and they didn't give you that feeling of thickness nor were they non-breathable. It made your skin feel so soft and smelled naturally good!

Do you use coconut oil? If so, how do you use it?

As a MomsMeet ambassador, products are sent to me for free to test and review, as well as to share with my friends and family.

Review: Pro Clipper Trimmer Set

I thought it would be a good idea to learn to cut my hair myself. I am tired of going to salons and requesting a nice haircut and ending up fixing it myself when I get home. I don't know why, but they always end up leaving my hair uneven. Just because it is wavy doesn't mean leave it sloppy!

I had seen that other people cut their own hair, and it looked fine, so I thought I could do it, too. Why not? I hoped for the best and ordered this trimmer set. There are 2 separate pieces. One piece is a larger clip that is used to trim the back of the hair. The other, smaller piece, is used to trim the bangs. Currently, my hair is at shoulder length. As I adjusted the trimmer on my hair, I felt that the clasp was weak. It felt loose on my hair. I then checked the mirror and noticed that the clip was crooked and sliding to one side. Either I don't have enough hair, my hair is too thin, the trimmer is too big for my hair, or all the above. I say all the above. The trimmer could not stay on. I gave up on trimming my hair. This really saddened me, because I was so excited to give this a try and failed.

I moved on to the small trimmer. I separated the bangs that needed trimming and aimed to adjust it quite adequately to cover the length of my forehead. This trimmer was really hard to open. I felt that it was going to break. I managed to open it, but now I needed to snap it into place to make sure it grabbed my bangs appropriately.  This was too hard. It just wasn't moving anywhere. Now I was running the risk of having really messed-up bangs. I held the trimmer guide so tight that it finally snapped on. I was going to worry about removing the clip later. Right now, I just wanted to trim my bangs! I started clipping my hair from the bottom of the guide. It was not as easy as it looked. Even though the guide was tight, I wasn't able to get a good cut. My hair was still too loose, but I still cut the bangs and tried to even them as much as I could.  In the end, my bangs didn't look that bad; however, I couldn't get a straight cut.

I would say this trimmer set would work much better on someone with thicker, fuller hair. Meanwhile, hopefully one of my nieces would let me trim their hair with this and see if it really works or not. I am not sure they will let me, though. As of now, I wish for better results.
